LIVE EDGE

I’d like to extend a whole hearted thank you to ROARK STUDIOS and specifically their HMFIC, Cameron Pile for allowing me to work with them in their amazing shop! In a very short time I have learned so much from Cameron and hope to continue learning from him for years to come

This is a slab of ash milled right from customers property

Check out the video below to see what happens when you hit an old bullet buried in the tree wile mortising for bow ties

I added the bow ties to add support I like their shape to be random on live edge

I built all these at Roark Studios for one of their customers

The benches are cedar-sealed with Australian Timber oil

I put a layer of epoxy on the bottom of feet to keep them from chipping out and to reduce the amount of water wicked

I found an old lead bullet hiding inside the slab when I was mortising one of the bow tie enlays…my router skipped and jumped right out of hands but I can still count to 10 without using any fingers twice!

That’s a fun saw to use
